Nevada pool permit requirements
The state-level rules your drawings are checked against. Cities and counties can add local amendments, so send the jurisdiction with your enquiry.

- No statewide residential code for private construction; counties and cities adopt the IRC locally, with Clark County on the 2024 IRC with Southern Nevada amendments from January 11, 2026.
- Pool barriers
- Set by locally adopted codes; Clark County adopted the 2024 ISPSC with Southern Nevada amendments (effective January 11, 2026), and other jurisdictions adopt their own ISPSC/IRC editions.
- Contractor licensing
- Nevada State Contractors Board, subclassification A-10 (Commercial and Residential Pools) or limited sub-subclassifications such as A-10a Residential Pools and A-10d Pools and Spas of Fiberglass (NAC 624.150).
- Public pools
- NAC Chapter 444 (public bathing places), with plans approved in writing by the health authority before construction under NRS 444.080 (Southern Nevada Health District in Clark County, otherwise the Division of Public and Behavioral Health or local health authority).
- Engineer licensing
- Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
